GATHERING'94
çedf,888,0f0,aaf,f8f,ff0,fff¹
¾ Gathering 94
¹Having almost not been able to sleep
lately looking forward to The
Gathering'94, I discovered a major
disappointment while reading the
information-text concerning this
event. The thing that bothered me was
that the good old votesystem will not
be featured at The Gathering. Instead
there will be a jury who will select
the winner.
Who the fuck has deceided this
brainless idea? As far as I'm
concerned, half the point of being at
a party is to have the opportunity to
vote for the best demo, so the winner
reflects the popularity of the
attenders, and not of 20-30 volunteers
that could likely be a bunch of
buttheads that does not have a clue of
how a good demo should look like.
Having a jury to judge the demos (or
whatever), will leave the Gathering 94
as an Oscar-show, the audience being
passive, and nobody really having
anything to do with the whole thing.
In the info-text I also read something
about the previous vote-systems made
dissagreement concerning the results.
Of course the arrangers of the party
can fake the results, or they can fuck
up while counting the votes. but why
should they fake? As far as I know,
the arrangers can't compete anyway, so
I can't see any reason for them to
fake the results. I do also not think
that a good group like Crusaders will
fuck up while counting...
¶çedf,888,0f0,aaf,f8f,ff0,fff¹At last I want to add that the system
of showing demos, playing mods etc.
seems to be very nice. The things
will be shown on videos, DATs etc,
wich seem to be a very reliable
system. Why hasn't any
party-arrangers come up with this good
idea before? Have a nice party,
dudes, and make shure to turn your
back to the PC-demos....
